Firefox Web Browser History

In Web Browser History we discussed some reasons why someone would want to limit the amount of web browser history kept in their browser history.

Firefox can be set up to limit the amount of browser history kept on your computer. It can be set to keep no web browser history or a specific number of days worth of browsing history.

In this article we will discuss how to set up web browser history in Firefox.

Setting Up Web Browser History in Firefox

In Firefox you can set how much web browser history you wish to save.

  1. Click Tools in the top menu bar of Firefox.
  2. Select Options from the list that appears.

    The Options dialog box appears.

  3. Make sure the Privacy section is selected from the list on the left.
  4. On the right of the Options dialog box you will History with a plus sign in front of it. Click the plus sign.

A box appears with “Remember visited pages for the last” visible.

  5. In the box type the number of days of web browser history you wish to save.
  6. Click Ok to save your changes and exit the Options dialog box.

Once you have set the Firefox web browser history the next time you use the History feature it will only list the past number of days of web browser history that you selected.

I recently upgraded both Norton360 and to Firefox from IE7. I can’t recall right now which was done first.
My problem right now is that I can set the history on Firefox to any number of days, but it clears each time I close the browser. I have checked in tools not to do that. I have set the number of days to 7. I increased the offline cache to 79MB on advice from a friend. All to no avail. It remembers all the site visited during the time the browser is open, however it clears them all once closed. Please advise if the Norton 360 firewall is doing something perhaps to clear the history.
